It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

I cant believe that it is December. I just dont know where the time has gone. It seems like yesterday we brought home our sweet little baby girl. Now she is 10 months old. Boy time really does fly.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Scott's family this year. The food was so yummy. My contribution was an apple pie, which was pretty easy and fun to do. Scott loves this pie and has asked for it for his birthday which is this Thursday. Maggies first Thanksgiving was great. She really likes Turkey. I was hoping that she would eat enough turkey and then take a good nap, but that didnt work. She ate turkey and then was ready to play all afternoon. I guess that myth is busted!!

The day after Thanksgiving we decided to go to the concert and tree lighting ceremony at the gateway. It was really fun. Jon Schmidt gave a quick little piano concert and then they lit the big tree in the center by the gateway fountain. Maggie was mesmerized by the lights. I guess they used LED lights so they kindof created a light show with the lights. Maggie just loved it.
I love Christmas time and this year is special because we have Maggie to share it with. I am going to make a point to savor every minute of it! Happy Holidays!

Adoption Awareness Month

November is Adoption Awareness month. To celebrate Scott, Maggie and I attended the 3rd Annual Adoption Walk with me 5k at Liberty park. We bundled Maggie up and braved the cold air. We had so much fun, saw good friends and had a yummy burrito (compliments of Chipolte... YUM)

It is so amazing to see how adoption has blessed the lives of so many people.

We are obviously blessed to have Maggie but Maggie wouldn't be in our lives if it wasnt for her courageous birth mother. Not a day goes by that I dont think of her and the sacrifice she made on Maggies behalf. We are lucky to have an open adoption and to have a great relationship with our birth mother and her family. We are eternally grateful for them and all they have done for Maggie.

In our family we celebrate Adoption everyday, but this month in particular our goal is to spread one word..... that word is...... ADOPTION!! Our goal is that you all know and understand how special adoption is and that it is a viable option for anyone who is faced with a crisis pregnancy.
